Southside Indy Aquatics is divided into 4 training groups. It is the goal of SIA to offer age-specific training for all our athletes geared toward challenging each individual and developing each swimmer to the best of their abilities. The team has two seasons: Fall/Winter (September through March) and Summer (April through July). Prospective swimmers must be evaluated by an SIA coach before registering for the team. Registration takes place on the SIA website under "Swim Team." Swimmers are required to register each season. Swim team evaluations are held in August and March. New members must provide birth date proof (birth certificate, passport, driver's license) when they join the team for the first time.

Parents and swimmers must remember that the final decision on whether or not to advance athletes lies not with the group prerequisites, but with the coaching staff. The coaching staff is looking long-term with each athlete and will place athletes in the group which is the best for that athlete’s long-term development. With that being said, this chart is a reference tool for a general view of what is expected of our athletes at each level of the team.
